Do you follow EYFS or Montessori Method?
At the foundation of everything we do is the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory At Wildflowers Montessori, we seamlessly integrate the Montessori approach with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, ensuring that children receive a well-rounded early education that meets national standards while nurturing their natural curiosity and independence.
The Montessori method emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed activities, and a carefully prepared environment that encourages children to explore and develop at their own pace. This aligns with the EYFS framework, which focuses on seven key areas of learning and development:
• Personal, Social, and Emotional Development – Our child-led approach fosters confidence, independence, and respect for others.
• Communication and Language – Montessori activities encourage rich conversations, storytelling, and language development through real-world experiences.
• Physical Development – Our carefully designed materials and practical life activities help develop fine and gross motor skills.
• Literacy and Mathematics – Montessori phonics and hands-on math materials support early literacy and numeracy in an engaging and meaningful way.
• Understanding the World – Children explore nature, cultures, and real-life experiences through Montessori’s hands-on learning approach.
• Expressive Arts and Design – Creativity is encouraged through open-ended play, music, and art, allowing children to express themselves freely.
By combining Montessori principles with the EYFS framework, we provide a holistic education that nurtures a love of learning, independence, and social responsibility, ensuring children are well-prepared for their next steps in education and life.

What are your opening hours?
We are open from 8:30am until 5:30pm Monday-Friday.
Do I need to pay a deposit to secure my child’s place?
Wildflowers Montessori may request a refundable deposit of £100 to secure a childcare place. This deposit is not a condition of accessing government‑funded early education and is not used to cover funded hours. The deposit will be refunded in full by the headcount date in the term in which the child takes up their place.
Do you charge extra for consumables?
Wildflowers Montessori provides government-funded early education hours free at the point of delivery, in line with statutory funding guidance.
Families are invited, but not required, to make a voluntary consumables contribution of £0.75 per funded hour, which they can opt in or out of at the start of each term. Optional charges may apply for special events and celebrations, such as:
Graduation events, concerts, or a mother’s or father’s day tea. Voluntary contributions help us to provide:
Meals, snacks, and drinks
Seasonal celebrations including Christmas, Easter and Halloween
Participation in the voluntary consumables contribution does not form a condition of access to funded early education. A child’s place, hours, or quality of provision are not affected by a family’s decision to opt in or opt out.
Are there a minimum amount of sessions that my child must attend each week?
We ask that children attend a minimum of two sessions.
Where possible, we encourage attendance of three full day or school day sessions, as this can support a richer experience of the curriculum and Montessori approach, and help children to feel more settled and secure within their nursery environment.
Do you offer discounts outside of government funding?
We do offer a 10% discount to children who attend full time as a 10% sibling discount.
Can I book ad-hoc/additional hours for my child if I need a bit more childcare one week?
We do allow for ad hoc hours to be booked at the discretion of the manager. If you can please give us a minimum of 2 days notice, we will do our best to accommodate as long as we have the staff to child ratios needed. Please note that the hourly rate for additional hours come at an additional £2 extra on top of your normal hourly rate.
